During my time as Sports Complex Manager at Pensby High School for Boys, I had the fortuity to employ Matthew Walker as an attendant. He was in our 6th form at the time so Matthew had to juggle his studies and work which he did very well. This was a customer focussed role so it could at times be rather challenging, which Matthew dealt with very effectively. He was a reliable member of staff who never let me down, and was extremely trustworthy, especially in relation to being a key holder and cash handler. He used his initiative as and when necessary, seeing something that needed doing and taking the task on.

If the opportunity arose, I would have no hesitation in employing Matthew again.

I recommend Mr Walker to your organisation without hesitation.  During his time at Pensby Sports College he was a hard working, conscientious pupil who took an active role in supporting extra curricular activities at the school as well as teaching younger pupils sports activities.  In the 6th form he was appointed to the role of senior sports captain and assisted the PE staff in organising various inter form and sports competitions.   

As part of Pensby’s specialist sports college status Mr Walker was involved in an international project called Dreams and Teams which linked Pensby High School for Boys with a school in Madrid Spain.  As part of the programme Mr Walker was responsible for working with Spanish students when they visited the Wirral.  He assisted in running some outdoor and adventurous activities as well as liaising with Spanish students to organise and deliver a primary festival which involved over 100 pupils from 3 Wirral schools. 

Mr Walker was also appointed to the role of Sports Attendant at Pensby Sports Complex where he worked for 2 years during the evenings and weekends.  His duties in this role included answering telephone queries, taking bookings for sports facilities, general typing and administration duties.  Mr Walker was very competent with the use of ICT and produced a number of outstanding displays and powerpoint presentations which were used to market the facilities. 

Mr Walker worked well at both individual and team tasks, he was reliable, punctual, extremely well planned and organised.  He had a mature attitude to work, an excellent attendance record and a great sense of humour.  He would be a valuable employee in any organisation.
