This is just a quick blog to describe what you can expect to see on this website in the future. The main purpose of this website was to simply play around with Apache2 and hosting my own webserver on a Digital Ocean droplet. Since that itch has mostly been scratched, I thought this might be a nice place to write about my other little side projects. Serving the dual purpose of showcaseing the things I have learnt and writing them down so I can remember them, it seems like the natural thing to start a blog. So here are a few projects you can expect to see if time allows.

Upcoming Blogs

This website

This should be a short read as most of it will simply be pointing to other resources that I used, but I will add details about security hardening and other bits and bobs.

Sailing the Pacific

Recently I sailed across the Pacific ocean for 8,000 nautical miles and took some nice pictures along the way. Would be nice to record some of my experiences.

My thesis

I also recently completed a PhD in physics, applied mathematics and medical imaging. I’ll write a little bit about what I got up to and what my research could mean.

Straviz project

I have a small python project where I pull my running data from the Strava API, store it in MySQL and display it in Grafana. I explain why I made this and the tools I used.

Obsidian

I use Obsidian A LOT these days for note taking, learning, and generally keeping my life organised. I intend to blog a little bit about the method I use to organise my life, and why I couldn’t live without it.

Hopefully there is something of interest in those blogs and ideally they can be helpful in the way others’ blogs have been to me. Bye for now.
